How do you get wax (the kind of wax used in a beauty salon) out of a silk top?

Question by ALEXIS G: How do you get wax (the of wax used in a beauty ) out of a top?
At the beauty , as the beautician was waxing my legs some wax flew up onto my top. I took it to the dry cleaners who said that it was unlikely they would be able to get the stain out. They suggested soaking the top in cold water for one hour. I tried it but it didn’t work. Will get it dry cleaned to see if that works.

The supply stores sell a wax remover that might work. It is really used to clean out the wax heater pots and implements, but it might work on your top. The only thing is that it is . You also might try Weimann’s wax remover available in discount and craft stores. It is used to remove candle wax from holders, but I have used it on table runners, napkins, furniture surfaces, etc. It will leave an oily residue and when it does, I pile salt, cornstarch, borax, baking soda or even talc on the area, let it absorb the excess oil and then wash or launder with a pre-spotter or dawn dishwashing soap. All that being said, none of the fabrics have been which is tempermental and generally liquids leave rings on.
