Question by mtgirl118: Starting a business selling homemade natural beauty products?
I want to start a business selling homemade natural beauty products such as facial masks, cleansers, and makeup. I want to advertise but don’t want it to be expensive. I know I should start a website, so what are some free website hosting services that I can use besides geocities and myspace for until I can use a real domain? Thanks.

yes.
when u have a website you will have to advertise the site and such, so you will still pay more $ $ $ . and websites like www.____.com are so expensive.
try ebay.
im so addicted.
ebays stores are quite reasonable. they start at 15 a month. its cheaper than a regular url.
and stores get special advertising on ebay.
its fun too.
and think of how many people are on ebay.
tell me how it goes, im interested in trying it out.

A free website, because of the banner ads, is a total turnoff to potential customers. Spend the $ 10 a month for a legitimate site like Ebay’s ProStores (10 item site for $ 6/mo) or Yahoo Small Business. Both services have a free 30 day trial.
There are books at your library that can help you with information on how to set up a business in your city/state. Check them out so you cover yourself with the legal aspects of a business. Having a legitimate business entity will boost your income with tax credits so make sure you get your company legal.
As for marketing, I found a great book at the library called “Marketing without Money,” which lists 300 ways to get your business out there for free or very low cost. The author is Nicholas E Bade.
I am an avid reader of business books and often spotted at the library trying to learn new ways to help people like you get their dreams turned to reality.
Seriously don’t waste your time on free websites because they won’t get the traffic you need to make sales. Also, while a website is a great way for computer users to learn about your products, there are alot of people who are not online so start working on a little catalog or brochure you can pass out to office buildings, at doctor’s offices, and other places where people frequent that will use your products.
Get to your local library TODAY and you’ll have a pretty wealthy and healthy tomorrow!!!
These day’s starting a website can be very easy and relatively cheap. You can find deals for one year hosting and domain name for about $ 100.
Most host these day’s also give you free scripts that will provide you with a website
But you ask for free, so here is in my idea the best.
Set up a free blog (see below for a great link) You can really use any free blog service, just blogger is one of the largest.
On your blog, post aarticles, how to tips, advice extra. Then if you want you can start to add payment links to the blogs and articles as well.
Good luck with what ever you choose.

Yes, go online. I would like to recommend the following sites for you to build your own website:
As you mentioned, online advertising is quite inexpensive and at times totally free. Aside from having your own site, you could also list your url to directories and search engines for people to know and find your products.
Good Luck!

**** I really like your idea…could you mssg me back? Thanks!
